The F01/F02 is the fifth‑generation BMW 7 Series, produced from November 2008 to June 2015.

Designed by Karim Habib, it succeeded the E65/E66 and introduced a host of innovations: the first BMW with an 8‑speed automatic transmission, the first with a turbocharged V12 engine, and the first 7 Series with a hybrid drivetrain (ActiveHybrid 7). Built on the BMW L6 platform, it was offered in short‑wheelbase (F01) and long‑wheelbase (F02) configurations, with the latter adding 140 mm of rear legroom.
